Ohio Wildlife Council has Approved Changes to Ohio 2010-2011 Hunting Regulations (Posted on 30 May 2010)
ODNR announced  on their website at wildohio.com that the new hunting rules were approved on 7 April 2009.  They include changes to eliminate the requirement to purchase a regular deer permit before purchasing an antlerless permit and a change in the deer bag limit for some northwest counties.
 
Ohio White tail deer harvest numbers for 2009-2010 have been Released (Posted on 1 Mar 2010)
ODNR has provided information on the number of white tail deer killed by county in Ohio during 2009-2010 season.  The total for the state is 261,314 as compared to 252,017 during the past year.  Their news release is on their website at http://ohiodnr.com .
 
Record 18-point non-typical Deer Killed in Ohio (Posted on 7 Feb 2010)
A record non-typical white tailed deer was killed in Highland County, Southwest, Ohio by Brian Stephens from Clayton, Ohio.   He shot the deer with a muzzleloader on 30 November 2009.  To view a photo courtesy of the Ohio Division of Wildlife go to Cleveland.com website.
 
Proposed New Wild Ohio Customer Relationship Management System (WOCRMS) (Posted on 24 Jan 2010)
A new system for selling licenses and checking game via the internet or phone is scheduled to be implemented in Ohio on 1 March 2011.  Hunters will be required to immediately place a temporary tag on the deer or turkey and replace it with a permanent tag number once checked electronically.  Land owners will be required to acquire a free deer or turkey permit to use the system.  For details from the Ohio Division of Wildlife go to http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Default.aspx?tabid=20384.
 
Ohio Deer Harvest numbers during the January 9-12 Muzzleloader Season (Posted on 13Jan 2010)
ODHR has provided their statistics on white tail deer killed during the Statewide Muzzleloader Season.  The total for the state was 24,078 deer as compared to 20,659 during the previous year.  Their news release is on their website at http://ohiodnr.com. 
 
Ohio 2009 Deer Harvest numbers for the deer gun season have been Released (Posted on 7Dec 2009)
ODNR has provided information on the number of white tail deer killed by county during the weeklong gun season.  The total for the state was 114,633 which is slightly less than last year.  Their news release is on their website at http://ohiodnr.com .
 
Ohio 2009 Fall Turkey Harvest numbers have been Released (Posted on 2 Dec 2009)
ODNR has provided information on the number of turkeys killed by county.  The total for the state was 2,180 which is slightly up from last year.  Their news release is on their website at http://ohiodnr.com .
