TURKEY HUNTING SEASONS
Due to the increased population of eastern wild turkeys in Ohio, there has been during the last few years both a spring turkey season and a second less restrictive fall turkey hunting season. Bag limits for the spring hunt and the fall hunt are separate. The bag limit varies depending on the population of turkeys for a given year. For the past couple of years, hunters have been allowed two bearded turkeys in the spring and one of either sex in the fall. The Ohio Division of Wildlife manages the eastern wild turkey population in Ohio and makes changes each year to the Ohio hunting regulations to maintain the desired sustainable level. Check the hunting regulations to ensure you have the current and accurate information before going hunting. The turkey hunting seasons in Ohio are discussed on this site with a few hunting strategies and tips. Ohio Hunting Regulations are available online from the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources.
